Hard to believe that its about time for our Usborne book fair again! We will be having it on Thursday, May 4th and Friday, May 5th. Every year it gets better and better and I have no doubt that it is going to be amazing this year. I know that I will be getting books for my two girls :) We would love to have you join us and stay tuned for more details as it gets closer!
Even though it is only September, we have already started planning and putting together our fall book fair with our Usborne Books and More Consultant, Ms. Sandra. This is our second time doing a book fair and I'm so excited! As a mother myself, I have several Usborne Books and my daughter loves them. They have books all the way from toddlers up to school age. This is a great way to get your child interested in reading! The book fair will be held Tuesday, October 6th and Wednesday, October 7th. Please feel free to contact me for any details and I hope you will join us for this exciting event!
It is hard to believe that August 2nd will mark the one year anniversary of Creative Village being under new ownership! A year ago, myself and Tonya Davis took a leap of faith and became the new owners of Creative Village. It has been a wonderful amazing journey and we wouldn't trade it for the world. During this time, we have earned our 5 star license from the state of North Carolina. This is the highest rating a daycare can receive. We also have a wonderful relationship with Ali Casparian, who is the founder and executive director of Bounty and Soul. Our latest opportunity came on July 22nd, when we had a school night at The Native, a restaurant in Swannanoa. If you haven't had a chance to check them out, then you should absolutely do so. The food there is delicious! Even my 1 year old (who can be a picky eater at times) enjoyed going there! To all our parents and families, thank you for being a part of this journey and supporting us every step of the way. we truly couldn't do without you!
I am so excited the Bounty and Soul is coming tomorrow!! It is going to time for another wonderful cooking demonstration by Ali and getting to pick out some wonderful fresh fruits and veggies! Today I just wanted to share their website so you can check out this wonderful organization and learn more about what they do.
Website Page: www.bountyandsoul.org This was our second week having Bounty and Soul's mobile food truck here at Creative Village Childcare and as always, they were amazing with the fruits and vegetables that they brought. Bounty and Soul is a non-profit organization run by a lady Ali and she is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. Ali has such a passion to bring healthy produce to the families here in the Swannanoa-Black Mountain Valley and her enthusiasm is contagious! Every Thursday she does a cooking demonstration and this week was potato salad made with greek yogurt. Can I just say yum!?!? They come every Thursday from 4-6 and bring such things such as greens, apples, strawberries, blackberries, corn, potatoes, and so much more! It is so amazing to see the children go and shop with their parents to pick out food. As the children say, "The food truck is here!" What an amazing blessing to be able to provide all of this to our families at Creative Village!
